Well, I'm at the hotel for one more night! I could actually be home right now but we weren't 100% sure the water would be this low so I had already paid for another night. Anyway, can't wait to be back home! |

Yay! It would seem this flood isn't lasting nearly as long as last year.. According to current river forcasts.. I should be home middle of next week.. can't wait to be back!
As for my stay.. I ended up changing rooms yesterday to get closer to a wireless signal that I don't even know where it's coming from.. In my old room I had to sit in the corner by the door to get even a tiny bit of signal.. Room now I get 3-4 bars constantly so I'm good..
I doubt there will be any pictures from this flood, my grandmother usually takes them but she went to stay with my sister this time.. Can't wait to be back in my own room and my own bed... and to see what my cousin has installed on my desktop in my absence.. |

Well, it's been like over a year since I've made a real post.. and it turns out this one is gonna be about the same stuff! I'm off to live in a hotel for a couple of weeks due to.. flooding again! I'm hoping they have net access.. otherwise I shall go crazy from boredom since there is nothing else to do here.. Adios! |

Well, lucked out on a place to stay. Co-worker has 2 spare rooms and doesn't mind me using one for a little while. Doubt I'll take my computer.. but might.. just so bulky and not really anywhere to put it.. But, anyway, after Monday I need to be out of here or I'll likely get trapped. Original plan was me and my aunt renting a place but she went out and got a motel room for herself for $175 a week.. Oh well, I love my co-workers. Well.. most of them! |

Water is rising, about to have to find an apartment temporarily to live in. Don't know when yet, but water is already over the main road so having to go the long way around.. This means I'll be gone for possibly a month or two when it happens.. My Aunt will need a place too, so we'll probably be living together(ugh, that means my cousin and her kid too!) Anyway, just a little update. |

So here it is. 10 minutes until I head to meet Wuuulf and Vlen. We'll be heading out around Midnight for our 13+ hour drive to MFF. Meanwhile... Fenrir will be sleeping all nice and comfy at home, then do his nice little 30 minute drive to the hotel! What a jerk great guy!!! Fenrir!! I demand that you fly to Memphis so we can pick you up and let you suffer enjoy the drive along with us!!
P.S. I won't see replies to this message cause.. well.. leaving in 10 minutes! =P

Yay! Finally getting to cooler weather.. Work is slowed down(until basketball hits us..next week).
Time is flying by too fast. MFF is just ahead and I can't wait! Unfortunately it might be my only con for a while. FWA is out for me next year due to lack of funds, I'm going to miss Joe's. MFM(yeah yeah, long way off) I'll probably still drop by a day or 2 again depending on who else is going to be there.. All other cons I just plain don't stand a chance of going to..
In Other News:
I hate being sick.. Silver has it MUCH worse than I do.. I'm mostly over mine after just a day but she's still feeling it pretty hard..
Internet connection is being really bad right now.. dies every couple of minutes..
and Ummm.... I never have much to write about!

96 degrees outside.. need a haircut BAD.. broke a tooth on a now&later(didn't feel it and must've swallowed the piece that broke off).. car needs oil change(2500 miles over).. and the power and cable keep going out at random, supposedly the power is fixed now though they took a pole and didn't bring one back.. so we're.. missing a pole.. but the power is on.. I'm confused. Can't get tooth fixed, no monies. That is all. Oh wait.. sore throat. not bad though.

Quick post.. We're closing the store for a few hours for the funeral on Thursday.. I'm getting my clothes together now to make sure I've still got everything I need, just can't seem to find my shoes.. Thank you all for the replys. *hugs all of ya* |

A few weeks ago one of my co-worker's husband had a heart attack.. After being admitted to the hospital they discovered other complications with his lungs and kidneys.. He had been hiding his illnesses and it finally caught up to him.. The surgery on his heart went well, but they were constantly draining fluid out of his lungs.. He was relying heavily on the breathing machines, 100% at times.. Recently things started turning around, he was doing better.. It took them a while to wake him from the induced coma, but he was finally breathing 90% on his own. Today she was told that he was doing fine and everything would be okay. She was planning to come back to work tomorrow, she had been with him the whole time.. The hospital is a little more than 2 hours away.. About halfway home, they called her. He died. She had been with him this whole time and he dies just an hour after she leaves. When they told me this at work I just disappeared for a while, I wasn't crying but my mind was just..off.. |

Okay.. anybody wondering where I've been? didn't think so.. but gonna say anyway..
Left Friday afternoon to visit Silver for the weekend.. However, I had to go to my nephew's b-day party on Saturday afternoon about 45 minutes away.. Around 4:00pm my glasses decided they had been around long enough and the weld broke, I noticed this when my right lens fell on my arm while taking a drink of Pepsi.. Since all the eye places were closing at 6pm and I couldn't get anyone to take me there cause they couldn't just leave everyone at the party, I had to wait.. Finally about 6:30 my brother-in-law decides to let me try his back-up glasses.. They worked well enough for me to drive, so I finally got back to Silver.. Couldn't keep wearing them though, kinda hurt.
Sunday.. Called the one place that was open and they said if I got there before 1:30 that they could take me in for an eye exam.. it was 45 minutes till and we got there at 1:15. They said they were too backed up. Went back home, then went to Hattiesburg(2 hours south) for the night.
Monday.. Woke up in Hattiesburg, started calling places.. EVERY place was backed up.. We're both wondering why everyone suddenly needs glasses so bad that about 10 places couldn't take anyone else until Tuesday.. She calls her mom back in Jackson, gets her to check a couple of places.. Finally, I get a 3:00pm appointment.. It was 12:45 and a 2 hour drive so we just had to rush out.. Got there, exam took maybe 30min, chose some frames, spent $506 that I don't have, then went back to her house and waited for them to put them together..
All in all, I was glad to have another day with her this weekend.. I just wish it hadn't been spent running around for glasses..
In other news:
My Nephew stuck a HotWheels tire up his nose. He did it because a little girl in daycare told him to. The x-ray showed nothing, but the doctor finally located it within his sinuses. He will be having surgery Friday to have it removed. They will also be moving his tonsillectomy up to this Friday so they can do it all at one time.
My Grandmother now has a better computer than me that she had me order for her. I am now trapped trying to transfer stuff to the new computer. I don't have a transfer cable, but making due with just sending stuff over the internet.. Goes pretty fast when they're right beside eachother anyway. Just hope she doesn't try to put Norton on this one.. I uninstalled it on her old computer and I swear it's running much faster.. Originally I was going to put the 300GB HD from her old computer into the new computer to avoid transferring stuff.. but no.. won't fit! bah.. Well.. maybe I can swipe it and put it in my computer, I need more space anyway.. ^_^;
As for now, I'm waiting on it to transfer her 6,000+ e-mails that she wants for some reason.. also dreading the store owners coming to town tomorrow.. they're annoying. Also.. someone sent a monitor home with me to look at.. When I plug it in it pops with a nice electric flash.. I'm...not gonna mess with that thing. |
